A new touring tire from Dunlop has been introduced

Sumitomo Rubber Industries is first introducing a tire under the Dunlop brand to the European market after acquiring the rights to the famous brand in the region from Goodyear last year. The novelty has been named Dunlop Blue Response TG, and its European premiere took place at the Circuito de Sevilla track, which is considered one of the most technically complex racing tracks in Spain. 

“This is our first presentation of Dunlop tires after acquiring the brand, so the release of a new model is especially important to us,” noted Markus Bögner, President and Managing Director of Dunlop Tyre Europe (the European division of Sumitomo, which until recently was called Falken Tyre Europe). “Direct interaction with customers and media representatives is crucial, as it is the only way to hear their opinions.”

The TG abbreviation means Touring, i.e., the tires were designed with an emphasis on improving comfort and efficiency during long-distance trips, while the "intelligent" tread pattern with three central ribs was developed, among other things, for rapid water drainage from the contact area, which improves handling on wet roads.

The refined design of the sidewall sections with transverse channels located at optimized angles increases the stiffness of the tread, reducing block deformation under load and enhancing grip when cornering and braking.

The new tread rubber compound contains long and strong polymer chains that slow down wear, and the manufacturer emphasizes that the increased resource was ensured without compromising driving characteristics. Another feature of the tires is that the transverse grooves are combined into continuous channels, which improves the smoothness of airflow and reduces vibrations, improving ride smoothness and acoustic comfort.

The Blue Response TG was developed by Sumitomo engineers in Germany and Japan, and production will be carried out at a plant in Turkey. Earlier, the tires have already been presented in Asia, and sales will start in Europe in March 2026. The lineup will include 99 sizes from 15 to 21 inches, and the company says that the tires are optimally suited for both internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrids and electric cars.
