Representatives of Formula 1 complain that some teams have to take tires on credit
Representatives of Formula 1 have recently released information about tire expenses. It turned out that teams pay an average of around £1.4 million to Pirelli for technical support during the season, also providing the company with a discount on advertising logo placement on their racing cars.
However, not every team participating in the races pays their dues to the tire manufacturer in a timely manner. To date, with only a little time left before the start of the season, three teams are already in debt.
These, according to Formula 1 representatives, are Lotus, Force India, and Sauber. The source of information also adds that the Sauber and Force India teams, despite their debt, have still received their tires. They have been offered tires on credit. So, despite financial difficulties, they will not be forced to withdraw from the competition before the new season even begins.
