Expansion of Continental Trailer Tire Sizes
Continental Tire has introduced on the American market trailer tires Continental Conti Hybrid HT3 in a new size 255/70 R22.5 with load range H, designed for use in harsh conditions.
The tires in the new size have a tread depth increased to 12.7 mm and will replace the Conti EcoPlus HT3 model in the company's lineup. The new product is intended for use on car carriers, beverage trailers, as well as on construction equipment such as concrete mixers and dump trucks. Initially, the tires were designed for use in long-haul and regional transportation.
The manufacturer notes that the Conti Hybrid HT3 tires in the new size are made from a special rubber compound that improves wear resistance while also reducing rolling resistance, which affects fuel consumption. Compared to the EcoPlus HT3, the heat generation of the tires has been reduced, and the increase in durability is up to 26%, and corresponding retreaded tires are also available, which make the tires more durable after retreading.
In Continental, they also say that the most efficient monitoring of tire condition is provided when using second-generation sensors from the company and the ContiConnnect Live application, available in a version for trailer tires.
