Buyers of Tesla Cybertruck have access to new tires

Tesla has started delivering Cybertruck Foundation Series pickup trucks equipped with all-season tires that, according to the manufacturer, increase the range from 318 to 340 miles (from 512 to 547 km compared to All-Terrain class tires.

New tires specifically for Cybertruck were developed by Pirelli, and in addition to exclusive Pirelli Scorpion ATR, off-road tires Goodyear Wrangler Territory RT are still offered (tire sizes: 285/65R20 and LT285/65R20 respectively).

Drive Tesla notes that when the automaker revealed the Cybertruck specifications last year, it was reported that the range would be 500 miles (847 km), but in reality, this value turned out to be significantly lower. As for the new tires, CybertruckOwnersClub user MadMaxTX reported that they actually allowed him to travel without recharging even more than the manufacturer claims, namely around 400 miles (643 km), while energy consumption was at the level of the Tesla Model Y.

As noted by Wes Morrill, Chief Engineer of the Cybertruck project, "it's no surprise that all-season tires are more energy-efficient compared to All-Terrain tires, as they have a special design that provides a balance between handling and economy, while also reducing noise."

He also added that soon Tesla will offer customers winter tires for Cybertruck with the 3PMSF marking, but who was involved in the development is not yet known.
