Why tires were created by adventurers
The word adventure often carries a positive connotation, meaning a risky or dubious undertaking, undertaken in the hope of chance success or adventure. It is precisely such people who laid the foundation for the tire industry and forever changed our understanding of movement. Many contemporaries of great inventors looked at them as crazy, rather, because they thought outside the box and beyond the accepted limits of normality. It is precisely such people who drive progress forward.
Perhaps we should start with the man who in 1839 laid the foundation for the vulcanization of rubber. The famous Charles Goodyear, being an American inventor, was the first to vulcanize rubber, translating it from a plastic state to an elastic one. At the same time, according to rumors, this discovery was made by him accidentally. He conducted a mass of experiments with this material, trying to find a new application for it.
John Dunlop, being a veterinarian, in 1887 invented the inflatable bicycle tire. At the same time, the first tire was made for his son's three-wheeled bicycle. Only a year later, he received a patent for the pneumatic tire.

The Michelin brothers, one of whom did not want to deal with tires at all, but dreamed of becoming an artist, showed themselves not only as genius innovators but also as fans of provocative and bright advertising. For example, in order to show the advantages of pneumatic tires for bicycles, they scattered nails along the route of the Paris - Clermont-Ferrand race. If the tire was torn, it was changed in just 2 minutes.
Also, one of the bright advertising moves in terms of advertising pneumatic tires for cars, the Michelin brothers specially drove a truck with pigs around the city in order to show how comfortably you can move around the city. At the same time, they even launched a leaflet that read: Scandal in Paris! Pigs are moving comfortably, people on ordinary carts. Demand decent treatment!

As can be seen from the stories related to the emergence of the tire industry, it was driven by completely unique and outstanding personalities. Is it worth saying that it is precisely such people, capable of thinking outside the usual framework, who can bring tires to a fundamentally new level even in our time
