Pirelli considers recalling motorcycle tires

The German division of Pirelli sent a letter to its partners stating potential issues with Metzeler Tourance Next, Metzeler Tourance Next 2, and Pirelli Scorpion Trail II motorcycle tires of all production dates in size 150/70 R18 for the rear axle.

"As a precautionary measure, the company asks you to keep all the specified products in stock and stop their sale until our review is completed," the letter states.

Pirelli also requested that the information be passed on to other stakeholders and "as a possible next step, help collect data from end-users to whom the products were sold."

"Pirelli is considering a recall of the specified products, and if it begins, we will inform about the procedure for replacing the tires," the company said. "Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We apologize for the inconvenience."
