Pirelli has prepared new tires for the Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS
Pirelli has developed four new sports tires for the iconic German sports car Porsche 911 - for the 911 GT3 RS , special versions of the Pirelli P Zero Corsa and P Zero Trofeo RS tires were prepared, and for the 911 GT3 , upgraded P Zero Corsa and P Zero Trofeo R are now available, the tire manufacturer's press service reported, adding that all tires were specially designed to provide maximum safety and comfort on both public roads and racing tracks.
In Pirelli, they add that the P Zero Trofeo RS is currently the most sports-oriented tire in the company's lineup, and they have recently been recognized as the best semi-slick tires for racing tracks according to the results of a test by the German magazine Auto Bild Sportscars.
“The Porsche 911 GT3 RS presented the tire developers with a number of technical challenges,” the company says. “The tires should improve the car's performance [including comfort] on the road, but at the same time have maximum increased grip, taking into account its extreme aerodynamics and low weight. These, in fact, contradictory requirements were met through two new exclusive Pirelli tires, sizes 275/35 R20 and 335/30 R21, the creation of which was helped primarily by the company's experience in participating in the world's highest level of auto sports”.

The manufacturer claims that on the track, the new tires allow for maximum speeds to be developed already in the first laps due to rapid heating, which provides access to optimal grip. In addition, the reinforced internal structure of the tires allows them to guarantee the necessary stability even with significant aerodynamic loads, and the tread pattern was refined using virtual modeling to increase the resource.
In addition, when creating the rubber compound, materials developed for the production of rally tires for asphalt tracks were used, and, in addition to providing high grip on dry pavement, the tires, as Pirelli says, can also work effectively on wet roads.
The P Zero Trofeo R, which is part of the 911 GT3 package, is also made using technologies from auto sports, and Pirelli emphasizes that engineers are constantly improving the characteristics of this model, and it served as the basis for the creation of the more extreme P Zero Trofeo RS tires. On the 911 GT3, the tires are installed in sizes 255/35 R20 at the front and 315/30 R21 at the rear.
