Pirelli has prepared a new tire for motocross

Pirelli has introduced the new Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire, which replaces the model that became the most successful product in the Motocross World Championship, in which the company has recorded 82 wins since 1980.

The new tire, suitable for both soft ground and harder surfaces, made its debut during the International of Italy, held in Montevarki. But on the new tires, Tim Gajser and Andrea Adamo won respectively in the MX1 and MX2 classes, and they were also used by all other participants who made it to the podium in both categories. The novelty will also be supplied to leading riders in the world championship and, like all other Pirelli racing tires, will be available to all comers who will be able to participate in races on the same tires as the champions.

Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft is part of the Scorpion family, which includes all Pirelli tires suitable for off-road use to some extent, and is also part of the Scorpion MX range, which includes motorcycle tires for off-road racing, including motocross and supercross.

Pirelli notes that the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft significantly surpasses the tire that has been the benchmark in motocross for a long time, and its creation used the experience gained by the company during decades of participation in the Motocross World Championship. Earlier, many victories and championship titles were won on Pirelli tires by motocross stars such as Stefan Everts, Antonio Cairoli, Andre Malherbe, Eric Geboers, Joël Smets, David Thorpe, Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre, Jorge Prado, and others.

Since the name Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft is so well known in motocross, Pirelli decided not to change it, but at the same time, the company emphasizes that thanks to the refinement of the tread pattern, rubber compounds, and constructions, all tire characteristics have been improved.

In particular, the new design has improved the behavior of the front tire during braking. The changed shape and arrangement of the lugs in the central zone improve cushioning and stability, as the blocks penetrate the ground more effectively, increasing grip and providing the necessary control. In addition, the design with two blocks in the central section of the front tire also improves stability and controllability when cornering, helping to pass turns faster.

The rear Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft is equipped with side lugs, the shape of which increases the stiffness of the tire when twisting and allows for more accurate following of the trajectory, while the transverse arrangement of the central blocks increases the traction force when cornering. As Pirelli says, the interaction between the central and side lugs increases grip both when accelerating and when passing turns.

A new rubber compound has also been developed, which has increased grip on medium-hard surfaces and made wear more even, while the shape and arrangement of the lugs have been optimized to increase resistance to cuts and provide stable characteristics and reliability in various conditions. In addition, the sidewalls of the front tire are also made of an updated compound, which increases their elasticity and strength.

The tire design for both axes has been modified, which has also increased strength, and Pirelli adds that the deformability of the tires has been reduced and their ability to adapt to the track surface in difficult conditions has been improved.

Finally, special attention was paid to the appearance of the tires, which "demonstrates the Pirelli brand's commitment to creating premium and high-quality products that stand out in terms of aesthetics." Thus, the inscriptions on the sidewalls are made in a saturated black color, which improves their readability and "makes the design more elegant", and the yellow Pirelli logo (thanks to the bright shade, the tires are easily identifiable on the racing track, the company notes) and the scorpion symbol, indicating which line the tire belongs to, are also present on the sidewalls.

The new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft are available in size 80/100-21 M/C 51M MST for the front axle and in four sizes for the rear wheel: 100/90-19 NHS 57M, 110/90-19 NHS 62M, 120/80-19 NHS 63M, and 120/90-19 NHS 66M.
