Pirelli "shod" the new version of the hot hatch Toyota GR Yaris
Pirelli will be the tire supplier for the new version of the "hot" hatchback Toyota GR Yaris, which has been named Italy Limited Edition and was created to commemorate the Japanese brand's first victory in the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 1973.
The exterior of the new special edition is designed in the style of the rally Toyota Corolla Coupe from 1973, and only 51 units will be produced, one for each year that has passed since the championship victory.
Pirelli, which has a rich history of participating in motorsports, including rally racing, will equip the GR Yaris Italy Limited Edition with its 18-inch semi-slick tires Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, which are designed for use on racing tracks.
"Thanks to Pirelli tires, the car's performance has been improved during acceleration, braking, as well as when entering, in the middle and exiting a turn," noted the Italian branch of Toyota, adding that this was made possible by the increased grip and special rubber compound.
Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires are designed for use on high-performance sports cars from prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and others, and feature a three-zone tread pattern: wide grooves in the inner zone for rapid water evacuation; a continuous rib in the center for improved stability at high speeds; and a rigid outer shoulder that enhances grip during maneuvering.
