Omsk site "Cordiant" has become more environmentally friendly
"Cordiant" has summed up the results of the "Clean Air" project, which the company has been implementing at its Omsk site since 2019, and reported that the effectiveness of the measures taken exceeded forecasts, and the total volume of hazardous emissions last year was reduced by 30% compared to 2018, while the planned indicator was 20%.
To reduce harm to the environment, a number of initiatives were implemented, and, for example, a new rubber mixing section was launched. In addition, the company improved the conditions for parking bicycles and electric scooters for its employees, and every year, tree planting campaigns are held, as well as a compensatory release of fish into the Omsk rivers — over the past five years, more than 113 thousand young nelma and muksun have been released.
The federal project "Clean Air" is aimed at reducing harmful emissions, including through the modernization of industrial enterprises. In Omsk, as a result of last year, emissions were reduced by 17.7 thousand tons, which is equivalent to 17.2% of the 2017 level. About 50 enterprises took part in the project, and the total investment exceeded 176 billion rubles.
In addition to Omsk, the federal project involves Bratsk, Krasnoyarsk, Lipetsk, Magnitogorsk, Mednogorsk, Nizhny Tagil, Novokuznetsk, Norilsk, Chelyabinsk, Cherepovets, and Chita.
In Omsk, "Cordiant" owns two tire plants: "Cordiant-Vostok" and "Omskshina".
