Omni United develops puncture-resistant tires
The Singapore-based company Omni Unites held a presentation and test drive of its Radar Renegade A/T Sport off-road tires in Krugersdorp, South Africa, also announcing the start of development of tires with a bulletproof design. The event, called Mission: African Terrain, was attended by over 150 guests, including key partners from South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Renegade A/T Sport represents the All-Terrain category, designed to improve off-road performance and provide high comfort, including acoustic comfort, on paved surfaces, and are made from a new rubber compound called Enduramax, which has improved resistance to cuts and cracks, while also, according to the company, increasing traction in various conditions.
The Renegade A/T Sport tire is made using the Ultra-Shield System technology, and the combination of stone ejectors, ribbed tread groove surface, and reinforced inter-block connectors is designed to protect the carcass from damage and reduce the likelihood of punctures.
The pattern is formed by interconnected blocks, which, in combination with an optimized shoulder profile, improves handling on gravel and traction on sand and mud (Gravel-Trac technology), and the blocks are made in the shape of a snake's head (Snake Bite technology), which, according to the manufacturer, increases the durability of the tread on twisting. In addition, wide blocks in the central zone improve steering sensitivity.
The company notes that the tires are available in 14 sizes, and on the brand's website, 13 sizes are listed, from LT205/70R15 to LT285/50R20.
During the presentation, representatives of Omni United talked about the launch of the Safedrive project, under which the company intends to improve driver safety with the help of affordable technologies, such as Run-Flat, and bulletproof tires will also be presented, which is quite unusual, as only a limited number of manufacturers offer tires of this type.
The Run-Flat puncture-free design is planned to be used in the Radar Dimax Sport and Dimax Sprint tires in seven sizes, with the company noting that it intends to offer them at the same price as standard tires. As for the bulletproof tires, they are currently under development and undergoing ballistic testing, and are planned to be released under the name Radar Renegade Ultra, which will be part of the Renegade line, designed for pickup and SUV owners.

It is expected that the new Run-Flat tires will be released in South Africa by the end of this year, and the Renegade Ultra should appear on the local market in the first quarter of 2025.
Omni United was founded in 2003 and currently offers tires under the Radar, Patriot, American Tourer, Tecnica, and Corsa brands. The Radar brand is the flagship, and tires under it, according to the company, have been produced using carbon-neutral production since 2013.
