J.D. Power has released new rankings of tire brands based on the level of satisfaction of American consumers with the tires that came with their new vehicles.

According to analysts, the level of satisfaction with traction and handling, which tires provide, has decreased from 810 to 803 points (on a 1,000-point scale) and this is the most significant deterioration compared to 2024. At the same time, among those dissatisfied with the driving qualities of the tires, the share of those who remain loyal to the tire brand is 39%, and among those who did not have such problems - 58%. After two years of ownership, the overall level of satisfaction decreases from 796 to 790 points, adds J.D. Power

"One of the main reasons for the decline in satisfaction is traction and handling in bad weather conditions, for example, on roads covered with snow, ice or water," said James Norton, director of benchmarking at J.D. Power. - If the tires do not meet expectations in such conditions, motorists will look for alternative options. Thus, if tire manufacturers will strengthen their focus on the properties of tires in bad weather, this will improve the loyalty of their consumers."

The study involved owners of vehicles in four categories: mass models, luxury cars, sports cars and pickups/SUVs. In the first two, the best brand was Goodyear, and in the last two - respectively Michelin and Hankook.

Respondents evaluated tires according to four parameters: comfort, wear resistance, traction/handling and appearance.
