New Continental Plants

21 november 2012
The company Continental has announced its plans for the next few years. In particular, the head of the tire department, Nikolai Zetzer, stated that in accordance with the development strategy adopted by the company, it is planned to build seven new car tire factories by 2015. At the same time, Continental will strive not only to increase production capacity but also to expand its spheres of influence.

The overall development plan, which was adopted in the early 2000s, looks as follows. The first stage is from 2001 to 2010. The second stage consists of five years and will end in 2015. During this period, the company has prioritized accelerated development in the BRIC countries (rapidly developing countries, including Russia). The third stage will take place from 2016 to 2025 and will involve optimizing production geography and strengthening its positions. The ultimate goal is to enter the top three largest and technologically advanced manufacturers in the world.

At the same time, Zetzer noted that mastering new territories and opening branches of the company in new regions is no less a task than the technical equipment of production.

Recall that at the moment, Continental is represented in fifteen countries of the world, where it has seventeen car tire factories. This year, it was announced that factories will be built in China, Russia, and the United States, as well as the modernization of existing factories. The next stage will include the construction of seven more branches - three in Asia and America and one in Eastern Europe.
