The new Viatti winter tire is coming soon

During the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum, the Deputy Executive Director of TD "Kama" Ildar Shaydullin revealed the first details about the new studded tire Viatti Nordico 2, which is being prepared for serial production and market launch on the eve of the winter season.

"The main visual difference between the new product and the previous model is the number and size of the studs," he said. "The new product uses smaller studs that have less weight. This made it possible to stud the tire with a much larger number of studs without increasing the overall weight of the tire."

According to him, if in the previous model - Viatti Brina Nordico - there are 50 studs per 1 running meter of the tread, then now this indicator has been increased to 90 pieces, and the design of the studs has been changed. "The hard alloy insert of the stud has a smaller cross-sectional area, which provides greater piercing ability, i.e. the stud is more effectively bitten into the icy surface," he said.

Shaydullin also noted that, according to the results of internal tests, the increase in braking efficiency on ice compared to tires of the previous generation is up to 20%.

Earlier it was reported that at the initial stage, it is planned to produce the new product in sizes with a diameter from 14 to 17 inches.
