New Hankook Truck Tire

Hankook Tire & Technology has introduced the new premium-class Hankook SmartFlex AH51+ tire, designed for use on the steering axle of large trucks and road tractors, and surpassing the previous generation model – SmartFlex AH51 – in a number of parameters, such as the strength of the breaker belt. 

The company notes that while cargo tires usually have a 3- or 4-layer breaker structure, the number of layers in the new product has been increased to five, and about 400 meters of spiral cord is used. Thanks to the strengthened frame structure, the likelihood of tread delamination is reduced, and also, the resource of the tires is significantly increased, as the deformability of the tread is reduced and the contact patch with the road is stabilized. 

Compared to the previous generation tires, the groove width has also been increased, the design of which has been improved to prevent stone trapping. In addition, the sidewall area has an optimized design and is made using a new rubber compound, which has increased its strength, and the hidden grooves that open as the tread wears out increase the reliability of traction throughout the life of the tires.
