Nokian will launch the production of tyres
Nokian Tyres has announced that it will launch a new production line for manufacturing tires for heavy-duty vehicles at its plant in Nokia, Finland. The first tires are expected to be produced in the first half of next year.
“The sizes of tires for heavy-duty equipment have increased significantly, as have customer requirements,” noted Manu Salmi, Executive Vice President of Nokian Heavy Tyres (which produces tires for trucks and heavy machinery). “With the launch of the new production line, we will be able to respond more effectively to changes in market demand and serve our customers with our tires, rims, and wheel assemblies. The new line, which will provide the necessary capacity, is crucial for maintaining the balance of our product portfolio and future development.”
Currently, tires for Nokian are manufactured at the Lieksa plant (which was sold by Nokian about 20 years ago), where production will be phased out.
