Nokian increases sales volumes
In the first half of 2026, Nokian Tyres' sales amounted to 659.6 million euros, an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year, with the company noting that growth outpaced average market rates across all its operating regions. Operating profit rose by 180.7%, reaching 17 million euros.
According to Nokian CEO Paolo Pompei, the improved performance was driven in part by new products launched in recent months, which boosted sales and "reinforced the company's premium status." During the reporting period, Nokian expanded its presence in the all-season tyre market, although winter tyres remain the company's core segment. Pompei noted that the initial customer response to the new flagship tyre, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 01, featuring retractable studs, has been positive—positioning the company to strengthen its standing in the segment central to its business.
In the second quarter of 2026, Nokian's sales grew by 10.6% to 379.9 million euros, while operating profit increased by 136% to 34.8 million euros, with the improvement attributed in part to "enhanced pricing policy."
Nokian expects market demand in 2026 to remain at the level of the previous year. However, geopolitical uncertainties persist, including those related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
