Nexen becomes a partner of Munich "Bayern"
Nexen Tire has announced that starting from the second half of the 2024/2025 season, it will become a marketing partner of the Munich-based "Bayern", one of the most successful clubs in the German Bundesliga and the holder of a record six Champions League titles. For Korean fans, the club is also of interest because it features national team defender Kim Min-jae.
Through the partnership with the German club, Nexen aims to increase brand awareness in Europe, a strategic region for the company, which accounts for around 40% of the tire manufacturer's sales.
As part of the collaboration, logos will be placed, among other things, at the Allianz Arena, the home stadium of "Bayern", which can accommodate more than 75,000 spectators, and advertising campaigns will also be launched with the participation of the club's players.
Nexen is actively investing in sports marketing in the European market, and, for example, has been collaborating with the football club "Eintracht Frankfurt" for 12 years, and the company's list of partners also includes "Manchester City", "Juventus" and the Prague "Slavia". In addition, in the USA, Nexen's advertising is placed at the stadium of the baseball team "San Diego Padres", and in the Middle East, the company sponsors the football club "Al-Nasr" from the UAE.
According to Nexen, marketing initiatives have helped Nexen achieve high financial performance, especially in Europe, where the company's turnover has been steadily growing in recent years. In 2023, Nexen's sales in the European market reached a record 1.005 trillion won (670 million euros).
"We are using the image of Nexen Tire as a young and ambitious company to increase brand awareness in Europe, and the partnership with Munich's "Bayern", one of the most famous football clubs in the world, will certainly help us," noted Travis Kang, CEO of Nexen.
