Nexen presents 52% eco-friendly tire

Nexen Tire has introduced a conceptual eco-friendly tire that contains 52% renewable and recycled materials. The Nexen EcoTech tire, which its sidewall claims is "for the green future", consists of 44% renewable materials, including natural rubber, bio-based synthetic rubber, silica from rice husk and bio-based rubber chemicals.

A further 8% is comprised of recycled materials, including cords made from recycled PET bottles and bead wire made from scrap metal.
