Nexen Enhances Quality Control Efficiency

Nexen Tire announced that it has developed and implemented a new automated quality control system based on artificial intelligence. AI technologies were applied to equipment for X-ray and laser interferometric inspection, and the company says that if earlier it was necessary to rely on the operator's vision, now there is an opportunity to detect microscopic defects that are difficult to see with the naked eye.

"Tires must ensure passenger safety even in extreme conditions, and only products that have undergone hundreds of tests during development are put on sale. Manufacturers also take quality control and the search for the smallest defects very seriously", - say at Nexen, adding that the new technology provides an accuracy of 99.96% in searching for deviations from specifications.

"By introducing artificial intelligence technology, we were able to significantly improve the efficiency of quality control, and in the future, we plan to expand the application of AI at other stages of tire production", - concluded at the Korean company.
