Nexen supplies tires for the Kia EV5
Nexen Tire has announced that it has become a supplier of tires for the family electric crossover Kia PV5, with two models passing homologation: the all-season Nexen Roadian GTX, developed specifically for crossovers and SUVs and installed on vehicles in North America and Korea; and the summer Nexen N'Fera Sport UHP class, which is supplied for Kia in the European market and optimized to improve stability at high speeds.
Both tires have been refined with the characteristics of electric vehicles in mind and are designed using the patented TSDP (Torque Steer Pattern Design) tread pattern design technology, which reduces parasitic steering - a phenomenon in which the vehicle is pulled to the side during sharp acceleration. In addition, the stiffness distribution on the surface of each block has been improved, which maximally increases the contact patch and prevents skidding. The company has also applied a variable tread pitch, reducing the noise level, which is especially important in the case of electric vehicles.

Nexen notes that the supply of tires for Kia EV5 once again speaks to the high level of technology of the manufacturer and its competitiveness, and currently, the company's tires are installed on all key electric Kia models, from EV3 to EV9, "invariably demonstrating excellent operating characteristics". Nexen is also one of the leaders in tire supplies for electric vehicles from Korean brands and intends to strengthen cooperation with global manufacturers of this type of vehicle.
"The supply of tires for the initial equipment of Kia EV5 proves that our products work reliably when used on electric vehicles," said John Bosco (Hyun Suk) Kim, CEO of Nexen. "We are strengthening our position in the global market through an integrated production strategy and maintaining the superior quality of tires for both electric vehicles and vehicles with internal combustion engines."
