Nexen and Le Coq Sportif jointly presented tennis shoes
Nexen Tire has partnered with French brand Le Coq Sportif to introduce new tennis shoes, Le Court Advanced, whose sole is made using technologies from electric vehicle tires.
As part of the project, Nexen Tire, along with its parent company Nexen Corp., developed a new composite material for the shoe sole, incorporating various materials used in tire production, while Le Coq Sportif was responsible for the sole design.
Nexen notes that tennis shoes require optimal durability and traction, and the same requirements apply to electric vehicle tires, which must withstand increased loads, including the high torque of electric vehicles. For this reason, the tire company's technologies helped improve the shoe's performance, and a patent was also registered for the composition used to make the soles.
"The partnership with Le Coq Sportif was driven by our desire to make tire technology more familiar in everyday life," says Nexen. "In the future, we will continue to expand our partnership with various brands to promote our innovative technologies."
The new shoes will be available at all Le Coq Sportif stores in Korea, the brand's official online platform, and major online marketplaces.
