Pirelli announced that on March 1, the company's motorsport division will be headed by Dario Marrafuschi, whose predecessor Mario Isola will provide support until July 1 to ensure a smooth transition of powers, after which he will leave the company.

Isola has been working at Pirelli since 1986, when he took the position of junior test driver, and the company's motorsport department, which is the sole supplier of tires for Formula 1, he has been heading since 2021.

The grandprix.com portal notes that "during his tenure, Isola has become one of the most recognizable and respected figures in the Formula 1 paddock, and he is known for his openness in communication with teams and drivers, despite the fact that they regularly criticized the tires. His role often involved finding a balance between Pirelli's technical limitations and the desire of F1 and FIA to increase the spectacle of the races".

Pirelli in its statement thanked Isola "for his dedication and genuine passion with which he has contributed to the development of the company's motorsport division over the years".

Dario Marrafuschi started his career at Pirelli in 2008, joining the company from Ferrari, where he was involved in the development of tires, among other things. In his new position, his direct supervisor will be Giovanni Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli's Executive Vice President for Sustainability, New Mobility and Motorsport.
