The production of Armstrong tires has started in Pakistan

Zafco has unveiled the first Armstrong-branded tire manufactured at its newly opened plant near Karachi, Pakistan, at its Dubai headquarters.

Zafco acquired the Armstrong brand from Pirelli in 2012, and the new plant is expected to produce around 1.4 million tires per year, creating over 1,800 jobs. Financing of $50.2 million was provided by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and a consortium of Pakistani banks, including HBL, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah, and Habib Metropolitan Bank.

According to Zafco, the launch of the new plant "reflects the company's drive to expand its manufacturing footprint in regions, get closer to customers, and serve key global markets with greater flexibility and efficiency."

"For Zafco, this event is not just a production launch: it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Armstrong brand's history, with many more significant achievements to come," the company adds.

Tires for Zafco are also manufactured at PT. Elangperdana Tyre Industry's plants in Indonesia and Otani Tires in Thailand.
