ZC Rubber plant starts operation in Indonesia
Zhongce Rubber Group Co. Ltd. (ZC Rubber) has launched the production of truck tires at its plant in Semarang (Java, Indonesia) just 233 days after the first stone was laid in the foundation of the new enterprise.
The new plant is the second production site of ZC Rubber outside of China, and its management is handled by a subsidiary of the company called PT Matahari Tire Indonesia (MTI). In 2015, a plant was opened in Rayong (Thailand), which is capable of producing up to 11 million tires per year for passenger and commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and special equipment, and ZC Rubber is currently also building a plant in Mexico.

ZC Rubber ranks ninth in the list of the world's largest tire manufacturers with a turnover of $4.77 billion, and in China, the company has nine plants. The amount of investment in the new site in Indonesia is not disclosed by ZC Rubber, and the company's vice president, Henry Shen, previously said that its construction "demonstrates our commitment to supplying high-quality tires to meet consumer demand in key foreign markets, such as the United States".
More than $500 million will be invested in the Mexican plant, and the enterprise is currently being built in the Alianza industrial park in the city of Saltillo, 240 km from the US border. In the future, the enterprise will be able to produce up to 13.5 million passenger tires and 50,000 tons of tires for special equipment.
Currently, a plant in Mexico is also being built by the Chinese company Sailun, and in March 2024, the Japanese company Yokohama announced the localization of production in the country.
ZC Rubber produces tires under such brands as Goodride, Trazano, Westlake, and others.
