Of course, here everything depends on the rubber mixture, and it happens that tires with a smaller tread have a higher resource, so it is important to understand which brands and, most importantly, which segments are being compared. 

One way or another, it's not worth forgetting about the balance of characteristics. If you choose the lightest tires, wanting to reduce the unsprung mass, but do not forget that there are parameters in which the characteristics of your car will significantly decrease. In some cases, when we talk about little-known brands, the weight of the tire should rather alert, because it is unlikely that advanced technologies for weight reduction and strength saving were used in the tire. In this case, the weight is more a consequence of savings on components.
