At SEMA named the best tire innovations
The organizers of the SEMA auto show have named the best novelties in the "Tires and related products" category, and in 2024, the winner was the American company Hoosier Racing Tire (part of Continental) with its first tires not for motorsports, but for public roads — Hoosier TrackAttack Pro.
The second place was shared by the all-weather Kumho Solus 4S HA32 and JK Tyre Elanzo Touring+ from an Indian company.
Hoosier TrackAttack Pro tires belong to the Extreme-Performance category and are designed for track day enthusiasts. The tread pattern with wide shoulder zones and a large central rib increases lateral stability and braking efficiency, while the lightweight construction makes steering responses faster. The tires have a UTQG wear index of 200 and will enter the US market next year in 46 sizes with diameters from 15 to 21 inches.
Kumho Solus 4S HA32 will also be available in the US starting from 2025, while its European premiere took place in 2020. The tire features a V-shaped tread pattern with wide transverse channels that reduce the risk of aquaplaning, while the closing lamellas increase the stiffness of the shoulder blocks and improve handling, and a special rubber compound with pine resin is designed to enhance snow traction. The 3PMSF marking indicates its effectiveness on snowy surfaces, and the initial lineup for the US market will include 26 sizes for wheels with diameters of 15-19 inches.
As for JK Tyre Elanzo Touring+, these are tires optimized to improve the level of comfort. The manufacturer notes that the tread pattern is designed to provide reliable traction on both dry and wet surfaces, and due to reduced noise and improved fuel efficiency, the tires are ideal for long trips. 14 sizes are available.
While JK Tyre & Industries is based in India, the company also has its own plant in Mexico (JK Tornel). According to Ashutosh Kejriwal, head of the marketing department at JK Tornel, the production of Elanzo Touring+, as well as other JK Tyre tires, for the American market "will accelerate product delivery and make it more attractive to dealers".
