What tests should you pay attention to?
It is often possible to encounter the opinion that all tests are paid for and their results cannot be trusted. Especially, our compatriots, strangely enough, do not like Russian tests. Of course, this is in vain, since several weighty arguments speak in favor of tire tests.
First and foremost, it is worth starting with the fact that our motorist needs to pay attention primarily to such publications as "Behind the Wheel" and "AutoReview". These are old publications that not only value their reputation but also have vast experience. Both publications have specialists of a very high class, because they communicate directly with all manufacturers and have been testing tires for many decades. Moreover, they understand the specifics of our conditions and what our buyer is looking for. Until recently, the winter tests of our publications had a unique advantage, because Nokian made the HPKPL 10P model only for the Russian market and foreign publications simply did not test this tire. Now the situation is repeating itself, because brands are actively changing and journalists are starting to look at tires that have just appeared on the market. One can even say more, now it is impossible to do without their assessment and tests of "Chinese innovations".
Importantly, journalists do not want to deceive us, BUT it is worth remembering that they are people with their own preferences. Therefore, of course, they have their own personal favorites and outsiders. When studying tests, one should primarily pay attention to objective tests, where accurate measurements of braking distance or speed are made. The assessments and final results can be taken into account on a residual basis.
The conclusion can be made as follows. It is possible and even necessary to analyze tests. The most important thing is to look at the details of the test and specific numbers, rather than just looking at the final results.
