At "Belshina" they are testing tires for underground work
In September 2024, the large-diameter tire plant began mastering the production of new tires from the Forcera Underground line with a rim diameter of 24-29 inches, designed for operation on underground equipment from MoAZ (Mogilev Automobile Plant named after S.M. Kirov), writes "Shinnik".
Underground equipment is used during mineral extraction, as well as during tunnel construction, and due to the harsh operating conditions, the requirements for such tires are among the highest.
According to Alla Kondratyeva, the leading design engineer of the OPiKSH UPKSH ITs "Belshina", tires with quarry tread E-4 and smooth tread L5S have been developed. "These are radial tires of a more durable design with the use of a metal cord, which allows them to operate in heavy conditions under high loads. A special composition of rubber compounds guarantees long and reliable operation, provides wear resistance and puncture resistance of the tread," she added.
Experimental versions of the Bel-394 tire model in size 26.5R25 for mine dump trucks with a capacity of 30 tons have been manufactured, which are currently undergoing preliminary in-plant tests, after which they will be sent for operational tests in real underground mine conditions. For this tire model, an aggressive quarry tread was created, designed to provide the necessary traction and stability.
By the end of the year, it is planned to manufacture an experimental batch of tires of sizes 29.5R25 (Bel-392) and 14.00R24 (Bel-442) for dump trucks with a capacity of 50 and 15 tons, respectively.
Next year, the development of tires with a smooth tread for loading and hauling and loading and transport machines will continue.
"The creation and development of a new line of modern all-steel radial tires for underground equipment will allow our enterprise to consolidate its position in the transport and technological chain of mineral resource extraction in the mining industry," Kondratyeva noted.
