In the Balkans, a new tire factory may appear
During the recent The Tire Cologne 2026 exhibition, it was announced that the Chinese company Sentury Tire intends to build a tire plant in the Balkans, and the company's sales manager, Jan Gedik, said that a decision on the location of the production will be made within the next two to three months.
According to him, Sentury intends to narrow its specialization in the European market and focus on the segments of passenger and truck tires without being present in "niche" sectors, such as tires for agricultural and other special equipment. The new plant will produce only passenger car tires, and it is planned to be launched in 2027, with 2028 being the deadline under the current plan.
Gedik also noted that the choice of location for production is extremely important from a commercial point of view, and the new Balkan plant will allow, in particular, to reduce transportation routes. Currently, the company already owns production facilities outside of China in Morocco and Thailand, which "help to cope with anti-dumping pressure and logistical disruptions".
Sentury Tire was founded in 2007 and produces tires under such brands as Landsail and Delinte. Earlier, the company had already announced plans to build plants in the USA and Spain, but both projects were eventually put on hold.
