
MRF will build a new plant in India
MRF has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the authorities of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu regarding the planned construction of a new tire plant worth 53 billion rupees (580 million dollars).
The company in the SIPCOT industrial park will produce car tires, and its staff is expected to be around 1,000 people. The project is planned to be implemented within the next 12 years, and further details have not been disclosed yet.
MRF currently owns 10 plants in India, three of which are located in Tamil Nadu. The company produces tires for passenger and commercial vehicles, special equipment, and two-wheeled transport.
