The company Mitas, which is part of the Yokohama-TWS, has introduced new radial tires Mitas Terraguard for auxiliary agricultural equipment, whose official premiere took place at the Commodity Classic exhibition in San Antonio (Texas, USA).

According to Mitas, the tires are "designed with the latest trends in agriculture in mind, such as the proliferation of increasingly large and heavy equipment, growing demands for fuel efficiency, and increasing attention to soil preservation".

Terraguard is designed to withstand increased loads at low pressure levels (VF technology) and, according to the manufacturer, can adapt to the terrain, stabilizing their behavior and contact area, allowing the tires to work reliably on uneven surfaces both in the field and on the road.

To further increase the tire's contact patch, they are equipped with square shoulders, while the reinforced sidewall construction improves lateral stability, especially when operating on the road, and the optimized radial structure and tread pattern geometry have reduced rolling resistance. In addition, the even distribution of pressure across the increased contact area helps protect the soil and improve equipment performance during long working days, and the saw-toothed block pattern, according to Mitas, improves the balance between efficiency, traction, stability, vibration reduction, and reliability during a wide range of soil processing operations.

"Now in the agricultural sector, tires for auxiliary equipment are required that can not only withstand the weight of the equipment," noted Roberta D'Aniello, Mitas Marketing Director. "By creating Terraguard, we combined VF technology with an innovative tread pattern that promotes efficiency and soil protection to help farmers improve their performance when operating equipment in challenging conditions".

Mitas Terraguard has been released on the market in the sizes VF 280/70R15 TL IMP 140D and VF 295/75R22.5 TL IMP 158D, and the size range will be expanded in the future.
