Michelin considers producing car tires in India

In June 2020, the Indian government introduced new legislation that significantly restricted the import of tires into the country, and companies intending to do so required a license. Being one of the many manufacturers affected by this rule, Michelin reduced the import of passenger tires and limited it to individual products for powerful cars. Further expansion in India will require local production, and the question for Michelin seems to be not if, but rather when.
