Michelin introduced new energy-saving tires

In the North American market, new all-season tires Michelin e.Primacy All Season have been introduced, which combine improved energy efficiency with increased mileage.

The novelty was compared in tests with direct competitors: Bridgestone Turanza EV and Continental ProContact RX, and the tests showed that the new Michelin can provide a 25% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to this, as noted in the company, the range of electric vehicles can be increased by 32 km, and the tires can also save a tank of fuel per year.

Energy efficiency has been increased, among other things, due to a special rubber compound GreenPower Compound, which also made the tires more durable. According to test results, Michelin tires can cover 20,000 km more than tires from competing brands and potentially last one year longer.

To improve ride smoothness, the Cushion Guard technology was used, i.e., an additional cushioning layer is placed between the tread and the breaker belt, absorbing impacts and road surface irregularities, while the tread pattern is made using Piano Acoustic Technology and optimized to reduce noise throughout the tire's lifespan.

As noted by Omer Weissman, Vice President of B2C Marketing at Michelin's North American division, "the market continues to change with the growing number of hybrids and electric vehicles, and Michelin remains an industry leader with tires that reliably work for a long time."

Michelin e.Primacy All Season has been released in three sizes: 235/40 R19, 255/45 R19, and 255/40 R20. The tires have an M+S marking, but there is no snowflake symbol on the sidewalls, which means they are not suitable for northern latitudes. In other markets, summer energy-saving tires Michelin e.Primacy are offered.
