On January 9, Chinese Mesnac, a major manufacturer of equipment for the tire industry, officially started the construction of a new factory for the production of molds for its subsidiary Mesnac Union Technology in the city of Changbang (Tay Ninh province) in southeastern Vietnam.

The new project will be implemented as part of the globalization of the Chinese company's business, which also plans to launch new production in Cambodia and Mexico. The plans for the opening of the plant in Vietnam were announced in June last year, and it was reported that the construction work is expected to be completed within 18 months. The project cost is estimated at $14.5 million.

According to Mesnac, the new enterprise will use the latest automation technology and intelligent equipment, as well as a specialized platform for information management. In addition, the new complex, which the company calls the "most modern mold factory", will be created with special attention to reducing environmental damage through "green" electricity, waste recycling, and so on.

Mesnac Union Technology produces molds for the production of tires for passenger cars, trucks, and specialized equipment. Mesnac's tire asset is Sailun, which itself has a factory in Vietnam, which produced its first tires in 2013.
