Oils in the tire composition. Why?
In the presentations of tire manufacturers, it can often be noticed that they emphasize the fact that oils are added to the rubber mixture. At the same time, it is often these additives that account for significant improvements in the tire's characteristics.
Sunflower or rapeseed? What's the difference and what's the point of all this?
The rubber mixture of a tire is the first secret of any tire manufacturer. This is a component that simply cannot be broken down by reverse engineering, in other words, it is impossible to understand what makes up the composition of a finished tire. But even if we assume that the composition is deciphered, it still will not give the expected result, because the sequence of mixing and adding individual components also has a huge impact.
Oils, in turn, have one of the key influences on individual components. That's why there's often more than one, despite the fact that the manufacturer doesn't talk about it. It's also worth remembering that oil-based additives are designed to preserve the characteristics of the tire for as long as possible. They slow down the aging of the tires and prevent cracking.
The conclusion can be drawn as follows - it doesn't matter what type of oil the manufacturer adds, the main thing is that it really helps to improve the characteristics of the tires and extend their action.
