Long March will build a plant in Egypt
Chinese company Chaoyang Long March, which has already launched tire production in Egypt
— at a joint venture with local Servis Group — officially confirmed that it will build a second plant abroad, and Egypt was chosen as the location.
As noted by Long March, the Pakistani project was quite successful, and the plant in Egypt, where the company occupies a high market share, will be launched as part of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative implemented by the Chinese government.
Egypt has a favorable geographical location, being at the junction of two continents: Africa and Asia, and besides, products can be delivered to Europe through the Mediterranean Sea, while in the west, the country has connections with the Central African region. Egypt is also the second-largest economy in Africa.
According to preliminary plans, the new plant will produce tires for trucks, buses, and passenger cars, and products will be sold both in Egypt and in neighboring countries and regions, and the company says that the experience gained during the creation of the joint venture in Pakistan will help to open production.
Chaoyang Long March was founded in 2003 and is based in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. The company's production capacity is 4.5 million tires per year with a turnover of 4 billion yuan (560 million dollars), and its product range includes over 790 items. Long March produces tires for trucks, buses, special equipment, etc., operating both in China and in other countries.
