Linglong Tire has made a breakthrough in tire production by replacing butyl rubber

At a partner conference, Linglong Tire unveiled its DVA (dynamically vulcanized alloy) technology, becoming the world's first manufacturer to successfully transition this material from laboratory development to mass tire production. This achievement marks the end of a decade-long debate over the industrial feasibility of DVA.

For the past 80 years, tire inner liners have been made exclusively from butyl rubber. The DVA material, introduced in 2008, is considered a "third-generation" barrier layer: despite its minimal thickness, it retains air 7–10 times more effectively, is 80% lighter, and 50% more durable than conventional alternatives. Thanks to reduced weight and rolling resistance, DVA is recognized as an ideal solution for eco-friendly tires of the future.
