Linglong intends to build a plant in Egypt

The Chinese company Shandong Linglong Tyre plans to invest almost $2 billion in the construction of a plant for the production of passenger and truck tires in Egypt, reports AGBI, adding that the new project was discussed at a meeting of representatives of the tire manufacturer and the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the country, Mohammed Farid, in Cairo.

Currently, the tire plant in Egypt is already being built by Sailun, and Long March has also announced plans to localize production in the country, while the Linglong enterprise may be located in the "Borg-el-Arab" industrial zone near Alexandria, where one of the most significant ports in the Mediterranean is located.

The project is expected to be implemented in conjunction with the local trading company Nile Trade Company, and almost 90% of the products are planned to be exported, primarily to the US and the Persian Gulf countries.

Linglong notes that Egypt was chosen for the location of the new production due to the country's strategically advantageous geographical position, as well as existing trade agreements. Currently, Linglong owns plants in China, Thailand, and Serbia, and the launch of the new enterprise is expected to strengthen the company's competitiveness in the global market.
