Linglong may build a plant in Mexico

Shandong Linglong Tire plans to open its third plant outside of China (there are already facilities operating in Thailand and Serbia), and one of the options is to localize production in Mexico, where ZC Rubber and Sailun are already building their tire plants.

The plans of Linglong were announced during the recent launch of serial production at the plant in Zrenjanin (Serbia), and the company's chairman Wang Feng noted that "as long as we remain true to our original ambitions, nothing can stop our forward movement".

According to Wang, the goal of Linglong is to increase annual sales volumes to 160 million tires, while the turnover is planned to be increased to $11 billion. Linglong continues to implement its "7+5" strategy, i.e. by 2030 the company intends to produce tires at seven plants in China and five more in other countries, and the placement of production in North America "would be a logical next step".

Not so long ago, Linglong announced that it will expand the plant in Serbia, increasing the production of truck and bus tires, as well as tires for agricultural and other special equipment. Earlier it was reported that the design capacity of the enterprise in Zrenjanin is 12 million passenger cars and 2.4 million truck tires. The plant also plans to start tire recycling.

Currently, Linglong has five plants in China: in Zhao Yuan, De Zhou, Liu Zhou, Jinmen and Changchun, and the company has already announced that it intends to open new production complexes in Tongchuan and Lu'an.

According to the results of 2023, Linglong took 17th place in the list of the world's largest tire manufacturers with a turnover of $2.8 billion, and if the company achieves its goals, this may allow it to significantly rise in the rating.
