"Cordiant": There will be no tire shortage

New requirements for the content of carcinogenic substances in tires will not lead to a deficit or price increase, reported Dmitry Gorbachev, General Director of the Cordiant holding, in an interview with TASS.

"The tightening of requirements for tire products in terms of environmental composition will not have a negative impact on the supply of quality tires in the market," he stated, adding that the existing production capacities in the country, including the restarted factories of companies that have left the country, make it possible to meet the market's needs in all segments, and "car owners will be able to choose tires to suit any request".

Earlier, it was announced that the Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to set a maximum content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in tires at 0.25% of the base protons. Roskachestvo supported the initiative, noting that PAHs are proven carcinogens of the 1st group.
