Yokohama Company aims to improve operational efficiency by relocating its headquarters to Tokyo
The relocation to Tokyo aims to enhance operational efficiency by consolidating the management of key functions in one location, as well as to reform the work style. The relocation of the headquarters and the concentration of management are planned to be completed by March 2023.
However, the company does not stop there. The automotive industry is entering a period of dynamic change driven by the emergence of Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services (CASE), Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and digital transformation (DX) technologies. To survive and thrive in this rapidly changing business environment, Yokohama Rubber is consolidating the management of planning, production, sales, technology, and logistics functions at its Hiratsuka plant. This concentration will enable more efficient interdepartmental discussions and accelerate decision-making. The company will also continue to promote work style reforms, such as the use of remote work, which has been refined in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
