When Tires Do Not Match Each Other

When Tires Do Not Match Each Other

Imagine that your tire is damaged. Moreover, the damage is clearly incompatible with safety and repair. In this case, you will have to buy a new one. In the passenger segment, tire models are updated on average every 5 years. Thus, you can simply not find the right model in your size. In this case, the only way out may be to replace a pair. Of course, the best option would be to change the set, but not everyone can afford it.

We remind you that tires with the least wear should be installed on the rear axle. This way, the car's directional stability will be greater. This is especially true on slippery surfaces and in turns.

So, you put a pair of tires on the rear axle. But can all tires fit? Of course not. There are simply incompatible segments. In winter, this is an obvious difference between studded and non-studded tires. The difference in characteristics will inevitably lead to a skid or another dangerous situation. A less obvious difference between non-studded "Nordic" type tires and tires for the "European" winter can also create an emergency situation in terms of traction between axles. In summer, it's even more complicated, as there are segments of "sport", "comfort" and "eco". The difference is almost imperceptible to the eye, so you have to choose tires based on the manufacturer's classification.

Anyway, it's essential to choose tires within the same segment, and what's no less important, try to choose tires with the same tread pattern. The difference in characteristics will still be there, but our goal is to minimize it.
