Chinese General Science released tires for electric taxis

Some Chinese companies, such as Haida Rubber Group and Keter Tyre, offer special tires for taxis, and the country is also rapidly developing the segment of tires for new energy vehicles (NEV), so General Science Technology (GS) decided to combine the advantages of products from these two categories and introduced tires for electric taxis, called Goodtrip T-EV.

GS notes that China's taxi aggregator industry is currently developing rapidly, and drivers who connect to them are paying more attention to tire mileage. In addition, the heavier electric cars accelerate tire wear, and the frequent replacement of standard tires when used on NEV increases the financial burden on drivers. For this reason, the new tires were optimized to increase mileage, and their resource when operated on NEV can exceed 100,000 km, which is "much more than traditional tires".

As the manufacturer claims, the average mileage of a taxi car is approximately 150,000 km, and Goodtrip T-EV needs to be changed only once a year, while regular tires will require replacement three to four times a year, which means that drivers can significantly reduce operating costs and increase the efficiency of their activities.

In addition to increased wear resistance, the new tires, as GS says, also have an improved level of comfort and safety. The groove shape has been redesigned to reduce noise, and the depth of the main drainage channels has been increased to 9 mm, which has strengthened grip on wet roads. The tires were released in the size 215/55 R17.

GS adds that, in the opinion of analysts, technological innovations and the development of individual products for specific areas of application are the key to companies being able to stand out in the new NEV tire market. "Our company continues to increase investment in research and development, study market demand, and improve its technological capabilities," the company says, adding that it intends to increase its share in the electric and hybrid vehicle tire market.

Jiangsu General Science Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2002 and has three production sites: in China, Thailand, and Cambodia.
