Pirelli's "Cyber Tyres" Enter the Chinese Market
Intellectual tires Pirelli Cyber Tyre, capable of interacting with the electronic systems of the car, are officially entering the Chinese market and have been tested by local automakers, who may install them on their new models, according to a number of media outlets.
It is noted that Chinese automakers are paying great attention to new digital technologies and are striving to add new innovative features to their cars, and the Cyber Tyre system developed by Pirelli, which, thanks to cooperation with Bosch, is used in the configuration of serial cars, is able to collect data using built-in tire sensors, process it using special software and transmit it in real-time to the electronic systems of the vehicle, which makes it possible to increase the level of safety and energy efficiency.

During a test drive at the Shanghai Tianma track at the end of July, the "smart" tires were installed on a specially prepared Lotus Emeya sports car, and engineers from a major unnamed Chinese automaker evaluated the effectiveness of the technology. The tests used Pirelli P Zero and P Zero R tires from the original Emeya equipment, and the tests showed that when the Cyber Tyre system is activated, the braking distance is significantly reduced. The electronic driver assistance systems, including ABS, received accurate data on the installed tires, as a result of which their operation was optimized, which increased traction.
The Cyber Tyre system has a wide range of functions and not only increases the efficiency of the tires but can also provide the driver with recommendations, and in the future, as expected, will be able to exchange data with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), providing the "brain" of the car with the ability to analyze the level of traction.
The Cyber Tyre tires made their debut in Europe on the Pagani Utopia Roadster supercar, after which they began to enter other markets, and Pirelli intends to install them on a wide range of models, including those in the more mass segment.
