Kenda to Increase Production of Truck Tires
Kenda Rubber has announced that it intends to invest 2.45 billion yuan (340 million dollars) in the expansion of its plant in Tianjin (China), where a new line for the production of radial truck and bus tires (TBR) with a capacity of 2.1 million units per year will be launched.
The Tianjin plant was launched in 2008 and produces tires for bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and so on, and the new investment is expected to increase its profitability and improve the product mix structure.
According to industry experts, due to the continuous development of China's logistics and transportation industries, the demand for TBR in the country is steadily growing, and the expansion of capacity will help Kenda to take advantage of the market opportunities. In addition, the Kenda project will create new jobs and contribute to the economic development of Tianjin, and the company emphasizes that the new production line will be equipped with the latest technology, ensuring product quality that meets the highest industry standards, including environmental ones.
Kenda owns seven plants located in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The company was founded in Yuanlin (Taiwan) in 1962 as a bicycle tire manufacturer.
