How Michelin Connected Fleet "unlocks savings opportunities" for fleets
Michelin has detailed how its Michelin Connected Fleet system helped its parent company Michelin to reduce the number of instances of risky driving by 25% across 54 vans operated by its Services and Solutions division in the UK.
The company achieved such savings after implementing fleet management technologies that it applies to end-user fleets. Over the first six months, the technology improves driver behavior, reducing instances of speeding by 46%, particularly in 30 and 50 mph zones, as well as decreasing engine idling time by 14%.
Projected over 12 months, changes in driving style are expected to improve fuel efficiency by 5.8% across the fleet, cutting CO2 emissions by 5.6% per kilometer traveled.
