How Continental Mabor supports the agricultural ambitions of the manufacturer
The company Continental has decided to take back control of the production of agricultural tires under the Conti brand. The production of Continental agricultural tires was carried out by the Czech tire manufacturer Mitas since 2004, when it acquired the license, and was supposed to continue until 2019. However, after Mitas was acquired by Trelleborg Wheel Systems, a manufacturer of agricultural tires, the Continental brand became unnecessary.
The company Conti saw this as an opportunity to return to the profitable and high-tech segment of agricultural tires with a premium brand designed to compete in the upper segment of the European market and produced at the Continental Mabor plant in Lousado (Portugal) with initial investments of 50 million euros and the recruitment of a production and research team.
