Indian MRF expands presence in rally
In the 2025 season, MRF Tyres will be participating in the British Rally Championship (BRC) and will become one of the official tire suppliers for the series, joining Michelin and Pirelli. Previously, MRF had already won the European Rally Championship (ERC), and in the UK, the company will be represented by drivers James Williams and Max McRae.
"We are excited to take on a new challenge and represent India on the world motorsport stage," said Arun Mammen, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MRF. "The British Rally Championship is a prestigious championship that attracts the best drivers and teams from around the world, and our participation will not only demonstrate the quality of MRF products but also serve as an inspiration for Indian motorsport enthusiasts and strengthen the sense of national pride."
Mammen also expressed confidence that MRF tires would "perform exceptionally well" in the BRC. "Our engineers are working closely with rally experts to develop tires that can withstand the toughest conditions in this sport and provide drivers with the necessary traction and stability to compete at the highest level," he said.
MRF had won the ERC, where several tire manufacturers also participate, in 2022 and 2023, and had dominated the Italian Gravel Rally Championship for four years. In January 2025, with new "snow" tires, it achieved success in Norway and Latvia. Additionally, MRF tires are supplied for rallies in Australia, New Zealand, and South America.
In 2025, the BRC season will consist of nine rounds, with the first round taking place on February 23 in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
