Imports account for nearly half of the Russian tire market
According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, the share of imports in the demand structure of the Russian tire market was 47%, and the share of products from local manufacturers was 53%. This was reported by Yana Yarova, head of industrial goods management projects at CRPT (operator of the "Honest Sign" brand), during the "Rubbers, Tires and Rubber Goods" conference.
The largest segment is passenger car tires, which accounted for 81% of Russian production and 77% of imports in 2025, while the share of truck tires was 10% in both cases, and the share of all other tires was 9% and 13%, respectively.
The conference materials also state that the growth in the Russian tire industry, driven by the restart of factories that were idle during the change of ownership, has ended. If last year the production of tires, tires and cameras increased by 6.8% to 48.7 million units, then in the first five months of 2025, a decline of 10% to 19.1 million units was recorded.
The decline in car sales is also having an impact - according to "Autostat", in the first four months of 2025, 349,000 passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 25.4% less than a year earlier.
